Characters and decorations generally require at least 2 weeks notice and personality portraits are best scheduled over 1 month in advance.

Party FAQs

Availability varies greatly throughout the year, so at least 6-8 weeks in advance (sooner is better). Certain add-ons may not be available without more notice as they require extra supplies and team member time.

The Playroom is an intimate setting and best for 20 children and 20 adults or less.

More children and/or adults may be able to be accommodated if you are comfortable with a more crowded party. For larger parties we highly recommend adding the expanded party room for $50 to make more space for more people. This can be done up to a week before the party as you receive your final headcount. Please make sure to discuss a larger party with us in advance.

The Playroom is an intimate setting for children to be active, pretend, and explore STEM toys. The Playroom asks that you supervise your child at all timesIf it is your first time at The Playroom, please complete the online registration & waiver process. Create an account for the parent and make sure to include the parent and child on the waiver. The Playroom is a no-shoes, socks-optional facility. Grippy socks and bare feet are best for kids. The Playroom does not sell child or adult socks. 

We require a 50% deposit at the time of booking. The remainder plus any additional services and the 7% service charge will be charged to the card on file on the day of your party unless you make other arrangements. 

Service is incredibly important to us, so please let us know if there is anything we could do better. You will receive an email after your event that requests feedback.

We include a service charge on parties and add-ons for both the party host and the behind-the-scenes team. Staff will not accept cash tips.

If you want to recognize above-and-beyond service, please indicate it in the survey you receive after your party.

  • Arrive 20 minutes early for set up
  • Guests play in the playspace for 30-45 minutes
  • Guests head to the party room for ~20 minutes
  • Guests go back to the playspace for the last 20-30 minutes, during this time the staff are cleaning the party room
  • All guests and belongings must leave within 5 minutes of the end time
  • Arrive 20 minutes early for set up
  • Guests play in the playspace for 45-60 minutes
  • Guests head to the party room for ~20-30 minutes
  • Guests go back to the playspace for the last 30-45 ~minutes. Staff begin cleaning the party room the last 30 minutes
  • All guests and belongings must leave within 5 minutes of the end time

Yes, although it will depend on the schedule. Additional costs will apply and vary based on desired length and timing of the party. Email events@theplayroomeastcobb.com to learn more.

You can bring in outside food with the exception of alcohol and sticky items like gum and lollipops. Food and drinks must remain in the party room exclusively. There will be a minimum of $50 fee for food found outside the party room. It is your responsibility to clean children’s hands/faces/etc. before they return to the play area. 

Decorations can be adhered to the wall using adhesives that will not damage the space. Painters’ tape is the best choice. Please no confetti, silly string, or any decoration that can harm the facility or cause excess cleaning time. Generally decorations are in the party room and by the front desk. If you wish to add decorations to other areas, please speak to us in advance.

  • The toddler tables are ~47″ (95″ end-to-end) 
  • The “wooden” tables are ~44″ each
  • The folding table is 72″

We use 108″ tablecloths when we decorate. For the standard room, you need 3. For the expanded room you need 6. 

You can reschedule your event without penalty if your event is more than 30 days away. If your event is in 30 days or less, there is a $100 reschedule fee. Parties canceled for any reason will forfeit the deposit.

We have a Sonos speaker in the play area – it can play music from Apple Music, but no personal playlists. Please let us know if you want us to play something. 

In the party room, you will need to bring a Bluetooth speaker.  

Party Room Configurations

We have a variety of chair/table combinations to best match the size and makeup of your party. The main party room is approximately 20ft x 16ft and includes a large window providing generous natural light.   

We have tables and benches for adults and big kids as well as smaller tables and chairs for the littles. Before your event, please let us know which seating configuration you would like us to setup. Of course, at the time of the event, you are welcome to adjust as you see fit.
