Each class allows your pre-walker the chance to play and practice skills while you learn strategies to support development through play. Caretakers will learn overall physical, cognitive, and social milestones for pre-walker babies and how parents can support their child’s development through daily routines. Weekly topics include:

  1. Sensory Exploration
Activities that stimulate the senses (vestibular, proprioceptive, tactile, auditory sound) to support early brain development and why this is important. Simple games with textured toys, colorful visuals, and gentle music.
  2. Tummy Time, Core Strength & Crawling
Techniques to encourage tummy time and build essential neck and core strength, even for babies who are not yet walking.
Importance of tummy time for motor development and the importance of crawling.
  3. Fine Motor and Visual Skills Development
Early activities that promote hand-eye coordination, grasping, reaching and visual tracking.
Examples: Using soft toys, grasping objects, or following an object with eyes.
