The Playroom is an intimate setting for children to be active, pretend, and explore STEM toys. Children must be supervised by their parents at all times. If it is your first time at The Playroom, please complete the online registration & waiver process. All adults need waivers. All children need to be added on a parent’s waiver. The Playroom is a no-shoes, socks-optional facility. Grippy socks and bare feet are best for kids. The Playroom does not sell child or adult socks.

You paid a deposit at the time of booking. The remainder plus the 7% service charge will be charged to the card on file on the day of your party unless you make other arrangements. Some add on services like characters will also require a deposit when it is confirmed. In general additional services are added to the final payment. 

Your Host (a Playroom staff member) will…

• Greet you, offer the wagon to help bring in your items, and show you to the party room. 
• Review where decorations are typically hung and answer any questions you have (if we didn’t decorate for you). 
• Review the timeline and offer assistance to manage the transitions.  
• Leave you to set up, so they can straighten up the play area, check the bathrooms, and generally prepare the space before guests start to arrive. 
• Begin to check in guests and show them where the presents go. 
• Check in with you before each transition and assist in moving the guests along. 
• Straighten up the play area while you celebrate in the party room. We generally do not assist in the party room, but if there is a specific request, please let us know. 
• Put the party favors (if provided) out for guests to take as they leave. 
• Begin to clean the party room 20 minutes before the end of your party. Please pack up your belongings to facilitate our cleaning. 
• Take care of all mess and trash in the party room. 

Service is incredibly important to us, so please let us know if there is anything we could do better. 

We include a service charge on parties and add-ons for both the party host and the behind-the-scenes team. Staff will not accept cash tips.

• Arrive 20 minutes early for set up
• Guests play in the playspace for 30-45 minutes
• Guests head to the party room for ~20 minutes
• Guests go back to the playspace for the last 20-30 minutes, during this time the staff are cleaning the party room
• All guests and belongings must leave within 5 minutes of the end time

• Arrive 30 minutes early for set up
• Guests play in the playspace for 45-60 minutes
• Guests head to the party room for ~20-30 minutes
• Guests go back to the playspace for the last 30-45 ~minutes. Staff begin cleaning the party room the last 30 minutes
• All guests and belongings must leave within 5 minutes of the end time

You can bring in outside food with the exception of alcohol and sticky items like gum and lollipops. Food and drinks must remain in the party room exclusively. There will be a minimum of $50 fee for food found outside the party room. It is your responsibility to clean children’s hands/faces/etc. before they return to the play area. 

There are hooks located throughout the party room to facilitate hanging decorations. If decorations need to be adhered to the wall, you must use painters’ tape. Please no confetti, silly string, or any decoration that can harm the facility or cause excess cleaning time. Generally decorations are in the party room and by the front desk. If you wish to add decorations to other areas, please speak to us in advance. 

We use 108″ tablecloths when we decorate. For the standard room, you need 3. For the expanded room you need 6. See pictures below for layout choices.

• The toddler tables are ~47″ (95″ end-to-end) 
• The “wooden” tables are ~44″ each
• The folding table is 72″

You can reschedule your event without penalty if your event is more than 30 days away. If your event is in 30 days or less, there is a $100 reschedule fee. Parties canceled for any reason will forfeit the deposit.

We have a Sonos speaker in the play area – it can play music from Apple Music, but no personal playlists. Please let us know if you want us to play something. 

In the party room, you will need to bring a Bluetooth speaker.  

• Food & beverages – no alcohol is permitted
• Something to cut the cake, if applicable
• Wipes for kids hands before/after eating
• Candles – we have a a lighter.

If you are doing your own decorations: 

• Decorations and painter’s tape.
• Tablecloths (3 for standard room, 6 for the expanded room – we recommend 108×54’))
• Plates/napkins, utensils, etc.

We recommend having guests leave presents at the front cubby area to reduce traffic to the party room, to create more space in the party room, and to facilitate getting items to your car. 

We ask that favors be distributed at the front desk area when children are ready to leave. This reduces favor items from being left in The Playroom and facilitates an easier exit. If you want to display favors in the party room for asethtic purposes, we can help relocate them to the front desk area before the end of the party. 

Please avoid giving children glittery items (i.e. fairy wings), wands/swords, noisemakers, and any items that could damage the space or result in children getting hurt.
