Brief info

Amy received her Masters in Health Science from the Occupational Therapy program at The Medical College of Georgia in 2014. She has a wide variety of pediatric experience ranging from outpatient, home health, early intervention, school based intervention, aquatics, and private practice. The past 7 years she has specialized in treating children with sensory integration difficulties and those struggling with self and emotional regulation related to sensory processing. Her passion for both children and her career help create a fun, yet challenging clinical environment for kids that promotes success and improvement in the everyday life of a child. She strives to make a personal connection with each child and family in order to educate and help overcome the daily struggles children and their family members encounter with Sensory Processing Disorder. She feels truly blessed to have found a fun, exciting, and challenging career that allows her the daily opportunity to make a positive impact in someone’s families life.

Amy has specialty trainings and certifications in a variety of clinical techniques and therapeutic approaches including:
- Therapeutic Listening, Quick Shifts, and Integrated Listening Systems (iLs) for the treatment of sound sensitivity, self-regulation, attention and coordination difficulties
- The Wilbarger Touch Pressure Protocol for the treatment of sensory defensiveness and self-regulation challenges
- Astronaut Training Protocol for integration of vision, sound, and movement
- Developmental Reflexes for integration of movement patterns related to development and milestones.
- Handwriting Without Tears for the remediation of handwriting deficits
Interactive Metronome (IM) impacting attention, focus, motor coordination, self-regulation, processing speed
- “The Alert Program for Self-Regulation” to identify and apply strategies to assist in regulating one’s self for better attention and/or arousal as well as emotional regulation
- Interoception for Self Regulation to help identify and interpret internal signals from the body.
- Physical Agent Modalities Certified for the treatment of conditions that required the use of thermal (heat, cold, ultrasound, phonophoresis) and electrical modalities (TENS, NMES, Iontophoresis)
